Fund website regulatory requirements

Recommended content on failover

Beyond the required set, carry only content whose absence would break a promise made elsewhere or flood the client's phone lines.

Every item here must be the compliance-approved version live on the primary (GEN-14). Interactive tools, search, account login, news and blog content can be omitted on failover; show a short notice that they are temporarily unavailable.

REC-01 Conditional Counsel to confirm

Month-end performance page. Fund ads that show performance typically point readers to a website for the latest month-end returns (Rule 482). If that URL is printed in fact sheets or ads, it must answer during an outage.

REC-02 Recommended Mutual funds, ETFs

Daily NAV and fund facts for non-money-market funds (ticker, share classes, expense ratio, inception date). The most-requested data, and a tiny static payload from the same daily feed.

REC-03 Recommended

Current fact sheets and quarterly commentary PDFs. Advisors and platforms link to them directly.

REC-04 Recommended

Distributions and tax information: record, ex and pay dates, year-end estimates, 1099 and qualified dividend supplements. Traffic peaks November to February, when an outage costs the most.

REC-05 Recommended

Privacy notice, terms of use, and a contact page with the toll-free number. Supports MF-10 and keeps legal pages reachable.
